Colombia: President Santos grants Farc members amnesty

    More than 7,000 Farc rebels are being reintegrated into Colombian society  Colombia's President Juan Manuel Santos has signed a decree granting amnesty to another 3,600 members  of the Farc rebel group, which last year reached a peace deal with the government. It is the third and final amnesty decree signed by Mr Santos. More than 7,000 rebels in total have been granted amnesty or released from prison as part of their reintegration into Colombian society. Last month the Farc completed its disarmament process. The rebels handed all its 7,000 registered weapons to the United Nations mission in Colombia. Earlier on Monday, the United Nations Security Council voted to set up a new mission in the country, which from September will oversee the implementation of the peace deal. Mississippi crash: Sixteen dead in Marines Corps plane incident

  Images from the scene showed smoke and flames pouring from the plane wreckage At least 16 people have died after a US military plane crashed in the southern state of Mississippi at around 16:00 local time (21:00 GMT) on Monday. The crash happened in LeFlore County, about 100 miles (160km) north of Jackson, the state capital. All 16 victims were on the Marine Corps aircraft and there were no survivors, Leflore County emergency management director Fred Randle said. Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant said the incident was a "tragedy". "Our men and women in uniform risk themselves every day to secure our freedom," he said. No official details were immediately available on the circumstances of the crash. Captain Sarah Burns, a spokeswoman for the Marine Corps, said only that a US Marines KC-130 Hercules transport aircraft had "experienced a mishap". \
